Chapters 21-26
1. In Chapter 21, David and Sarah venture into a grocery store to try to find some essentials. Show us a picture of the top three items you consider your essentials when you go shopping.
I love to snack! It’s a weakness. So I always have to have snake food on hand. This is my new favorite combo. So Yum!
2. Sarah and David travel quite a distance to “visit” a family member. Show us a picture of your most recent family vacation. Who did you visit and where did you go?
Back in April, my sister, mom, a couple of friends, and I spent a long weekend at South Padre Island. We were there to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday. It was such a fun and relaxing weekend.
3. Sarah refers to David’s sister as the Martha Stewart type because she likes to make things from scratch. Show us a picture a hobby or home project you get enthusiastic about making/doing.
Umm…I’m not very creative or good a crafts, and you’ve seen my baking efforts. My newest passion, beside cycling, is participating in 5Ks, like the Hog Dash I did last weekend. Training for these events is more fun that I ever thought it would be! So I guess I would say my home project is me. Logging in treadmill time with an audiobook is the hobby that takes up the most of my time. And I’m very proud of my collection of 5K and cycling bibs!
4. David and Sarah decide to start up their own Zombie exterminators business, and even come up with a name and slogan for it, “S and D Zombie Extermination. We take care of your undead issues.” If you opened up your own zombie killing business, what would you call it, and what would your slogan be?
5. What were your favorite/least favorite parts of Married with Zombies? Aside from David and Sarah, who was your favorite/least favorite character?
I totally loved the opening scene where Sarah and David are fighting off their therapist. It really got the action started and sucked me right into the story. And poor Amanda. I loved her! Her milky grey tears tore me up.
6. What do you think is coming up next for David and Sarah? Which do you think has a better chance of survival, their marriage or their humanity? Will you continue reading this series, and if so, what do you hope to see happen in the next book?
I don’t really like to read zombie novels, but I love watching zombie movies/shows. Weird, I know. BUT, I love the humor and characters in MwZ, so yes, I’m definitely going to check out the rest of the books in the series. I am a fan of David and Sarah’s. I want them to make it, not just to live, but to make their marriage work, despite the crazy odds they are facing.

Questions for Chapter 1-6 of Fairy Metal Thunder:
1. At the beginning of the story, the Assorted Zebras are just a garage band, but they are expecting to make it big. Who knows, you just might find yourself at one of their concerts someday. Until then, show me your favorite concert t-shirt. It could be a picture of a concert you actually attended or a pic of a vintage tee of your favorite band. Be sure to tell me the story behind the tee.
2. Jason’s mom forces him to agree to do some yard work for Mrs. Dullahan, which wouldn’t be so bad if she wasn’t rumored to be a witch. Tell me about the worst chore you were ever forced to do. Who make you do it? Bonus points if you have a picture to share of you doing the dirty work.
3. Uh oh! There seems to be a jewelry thief in the neighborhood. Have you have had anything stolen from you? Or have you ever lost something precious? Did you ever find it? Make a Reward if Found poster for the stolen or lost item. Convince us to find it for you. Make the reward good!
4. In Faerie, Jason declares himself as Jason the Guy Who Wants That Necklace Back. Weird, but then again every name has a meaning. What does your name mean? What is the origin? Do you go by any kind of nicknames? How did you get that nickname?
5. When Jason gets home from his all night adventures through Fairy, his parents unfairly ground him for a month! Care to share a time you were grounded by your parents for no good reason?

Chapters 16-20
1. In chapter 16 David and Sarah are attacked by freezer zombies in chef attire. Despite its rotten food and disgusting kitchen, lets think about what it could of been before the attack, give me a picture of your dream kitchen or a pic of you cooking your favorite food in your own kitchen… or both!!!
I’m not much of a cook, so I don’t really have a dream kitchen. But I love to try to bake.
Did I ever tell you about that time I tried to make Maggie Stiefvater’s November Cakes? They didn’t exactly come out looking like they should have, but they were still a ball of delicious gooeyness! I got the recipe from Jen, who modified it slightly from Maggie.
And my biggest weakness is Red Velvet, so I make these babies pretty frequently. Damn you Duncan Hines, for making these Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies so easy to bake!
2. In Chapter 16, David winds up killing those freezer zombies with a blank show me your best one….and yes it must be yours!!!!
Show you my best machete?! Umm…yeah, I don’t have one. But I think I could use one of these tools in my garage to get the job done.
3. In Chapter 17 David and Sarah find themselves with some cult like people and wind up trapped. How would you escape? Ropes? Blankets….show me your best.
Extension cord! Throw it out the window and there’s your escape route! I know. I’m brilliant. No need to point it out.
4. In Chapter 19 David and Sarah find a surprise in the car they stole…in the midst of crazy its a nice welcome. Now whip me up your favorite one and share……you can include recipes!!
What? I don’t have alcohol in the house!!! *shifty eyes* Okay, maybe I do…
As for making a mixed drink…well, the other day, I did make a milkshake. It was delicious. I’m a bit apprehensive on sharing this secret recipe. But I guess, I’ll spill. Ready to write this down? Take milk, ice, 6-8 strawberries, and a banana and blend. Vola!
5. In chapter 20, Sarah gets to kill a zombie with a cash register, bringing back memories of her worst retail job ever….so tell me whats the worst job you’ve had……if you can include pictures in your uniform I will die laughing…..or a picture of the place you worked will be good too…:).
Oh, I’ve had all kinds of jobs. But I think the worst was when I worked as a plasma processor at a plasma donation center. I was in college at the time, and used to donate plasma so much (for cash), that they offereed me a job. It involved processing plasma and then storing it in a freezer. And the freezer was cold, like below zero. It was hell. A freezing hell. LOL

Chapters 11-15
1. In Chapter 11 Sarah, Dave & Amanda were rushed by 4 zombies. At this time Sarah screams something. SHOW ME YOURS!! Don’t have one? That is ok, show me what you would grab outside to protect your self!!
I guess it’s lucky that I recently took shooting lessons. My sister had been wanting some for her birthday, so I took her to a shooting range. Some girlfriends of ours tagged along and it was quite the party!
2. At the end of Chapter 12 they are saved by someone looking very “Underworld” awesome. Let me see your best “Slay em’ Gear”. Don’t want to model your outfit? That is ok, lay it out.. don’t forget to add your weapons!!
I always feel like a complete bad ass when I wear my Buffy shirt. I know I have the slayer gene somewhere in me. It’s just sleeping. But I have no doubt it will emerge when I need it. Zombies Beware!
3. Near the end of Chapter 13 Sarah finds something under the seat to help Dave, that she saved for whenever the need gave in. What was it? “Strike” your best pose!
I don’t smoke so it’s kind of odd that I have this many lighters in my house. I guess my addition to candles is a healthy one.
4. Nothing very “action pic” happens in Chapters 14 & 15. So this is where you can show me what car you would pick to ride around town, trying to survive.
I’ve only had Polly (my Chevy Sonic) since February, but I’m already dearly attached to her, so there’s no way I could abandon her. She would be my getaway car of choice.
5. How are you enjoying the book so FAR?!!!
I really like how David and Sarah are sticking together and doing their best to work as a team. I think they are going to make it.

1.In Chapter 6, Sarah and Dave raid Amanda’s apartment for guns… When they come out they run into their super, Mr. Gonzales, when he tries to attract Sarah: What does she hit? Do you have one of these? You could totally bash some Zombie brains with one! Show me whatcha got! If you don’t have one of these, then anything that you would find in a hallway of an apartment building!
I don’t live in an apartment, but my office building has a fire extinguisher! I’ve heard they are pretty heavy, so I don’t know that I could actually bash a zombie’s brain with one, but you better believe I’d try.
2. In Chapter 7, Sarah and David are watching a news report of the zombie attacks when the doctor on TV attacks the reporter… The news crew steps in and starts bashing the zombie with a _______, grab the nearest similar object (whatever’s handy) that you would use if you were attacked at WORK!
This is my office, and as you can see, it’s a very tiny space. At work, I’m currently in the middle of sorting all my files, so if a zombie attacks me while I’m there, I’ll be able to paper cut it to death. Or I could grab my apple paperweight and bludgeon the crap out of it.
3. Chapter 8… Amanda, Sarah and Dave are preparing to head out of town, and while they’re getting in the car, three zombies attack them! Sarah bashes one with the butt of her shot gun as instinct takes over, so whatcha got? You’re getting in your car, fleeing the city- zombies attack, no guns or knives… What are you going to use to defend yourself??
Gah! If I was attacked while getting in my car, I’d be SOL because there is nothing useful in Polly (that’s what I named my car). Oh, wait. I suppose the umbrella in the trunk might come in handy, but if not, I could always throw my bike on a zombie. Wait!! What am I saying? Throw my bike? Never. I’d rather be zombie meat than harm my baby.
P.S. The picture is of my car – Polly, my bike – Shiva, and Shiva’s twin sister. LOL
4. In Chapter 9 & 10 there aren’t any zombie killings… That we could replicate!!! So, give me a couple of your favorite quotes from Chapters 5-10!!!
I’m listening to the audiobook of MwZ, so catching quotes is kind of hard, but I love the chapter titles. The marriage advice and zombie survival tips mixed together are so funny.

Questions Week 1
1. In chapter 2 Sarah has to put her marriage therapist “to rest” with a letter opener. Let’s see your weaponized letter opener in mid-action! No letter opener? Think fast! You need to rescue your friend/significant other! What are you going to use when no actual weapons are available? No knives, no guns! Show me what you’ve got!
The nearest makeshift weapon I could find was Ozzie’s back scratcher. I was going to try to demonstrate just how deadly it could be, but then Ozzie saw me pick it up and he suddenly claimed to have an itch he couldn’t reach so I had to lead a hand. But I’m certain I’d be able to poke some Zombie eyeballs out with it. If they can’t see me, they can’t eat me.
P.S. Yes, sometimes I use Ozzie’s back scratcher on myself. *hangs head in shame*
2. In chapter 2 Sarah is wrestling with Dr. Kelly and David can’t seem to find a weapon to help his dear wife with. Until…Sarah yells at him to use something on Dr. Kelly’s body, which he grabs and smashes into her head. I want to see your most killer pair of this item!
My most killer pair of shoes are my skates! Yeah, yeah, laugh if you want, but I’m telling you, these babies can cause some damage. I should know. I’ve fallen on them and have had them swung at my arms and legs. Talk about some serious ouchies!
3. In chapter 3, Sarah hears an unexpected noise in the bathroom while she’s nervously peeing. She grabs “the closest thing there was to a weapon in the room”. I want a picture of the same type of item that is closest to you….no soft edges people. They won’t do the brain damage necessary to kill the living dead.
I conveniently have a couple of books I just got in the mail a few of days ago still sitting on my coffee table. Looks like being too lazy to shelve them properly is actually blessing in disguise for when the zombie apocalypse hits. And I know the one on top is a paperback, but seriously, what zombie is going to want to mess with me when I flash them that cover?! (Thanks Maja!)
4. At the end of chapter 5, Dave gives Sarah a weapon just before they are leaving their apartment to pay a little visit to Jack & Amanda’s apartment. Let’s see a picture of yours (same type of item).
I was one of those kids that loved to play with flashlights, and I still do, so I have about a dozen or so scattered throughout my house. Makes me feel all prepared and stuff.
5. How do you feel about the book up to this point? Any thoughts you want to share?
MwZ is a re-read for me, well a re-listen since I have the audiobook, and one thing that has really surprised me is how much fun I’m having listening to it all over again. So far, it’s just as awesome as the first time.
