SHE WON’T REST UNTIL SHE’S SENT EVERY WALKING CORPSE BACK TO ITS GRAVE. FOREVER.
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real. To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

Divinity

Demons.
They’re everywhere, hiding in plain sight. Chances are, you’ve interacted with one or two of them in your lifetime without even realizing it…
Demon hunter Evelyn Brighton saves unsuspecting humans from the malevolent creatures masquerading around them every day. Working under the Lebriga Corporation’s direction, she never fails to bring her A-game with her keen skill, fiercely independent spirit, and the best weapon in her arsenal: the Divinity blade.
Evelyn’s world is turned on its ear, however, when she is ordered to train cocky new recruit Daniel Summers. They both feel an instinctive pull drawing them to one another, the ancient spells tattooed into their skin illuminating whenever the two hunters come into contact. But with evil looming over the city of Los Angeles, Evelyn and Daniel’s mutual competitiveness and sense of duty to Lebriga and all humankind forces them to hold back their desires. Will their restraint be enough to keep them focused and save southern California, or will the dark forces prevail?
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Divinity is an action-filled, fast-paced marriage of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Edgy, witty, and sexy, it will bind you in its spell.
Adrenaline junkies, are you ready for this?! Divinity was a high-octane, fast-paced adventure of epic proportions! Sure, the premise was a bit familiar, but it was the type of familiar you never really get tired of.
Set in the modern world, but also sneaking in bits of old lore and legend, Divinity pairs together Hunters (demon slayers) and Handlers (demonologists). Their objective is to work as a unit to fight the forces of evil, and luckily for us, Leever didn’t hold back when it came down to the gory details of what it means to go up against the bad guys. I loved the action scenes. They were vivid and I could actually “see” them happening in my mind.
Since Divinity is set in the present timeline, there were a few things that threw me off. Evelyn, the heroine, works for a secret Corporation that I desperately wanted to know more about. The corporation’s infrastructure largely remained a mystery to me throughout the story, and I had some difficulties accepting some of the decisions they made. Also, I often found myself wondering how the world around the ciaos was reacting. When you have demons taking over a large part of L.A., someone’s bound to notice, even if they are only regular humans.
I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed with the romance in the story. I wasn’t completely sold on it. I’ve never been a fan of romances that develop from instant physical attraction only, and that’s the type of relationship Evelyn and Daniel seemed to have. And since Evelyn was more than a century older than Daniel, it didn’t really seem believable that she’d suddenly feel this undeniable pull towards him without them really getting to know each other. Yes, she did have a conversation with her friend which showed her opening up like she never had before, but I would have like to see her have meaningful conversations with Daniel instead. And since the novel was only about 190 pages, I definitely thought there was room to develop a more authentic relationship between Daniel and Evelyn.
But I don’t think the romance issue I had will bother UF readers as much as it did me. Plus, Divinity featured a fun cast of characters, each with their own personality traits and stories to tell. At times, I did feel overwhelmed with the amount of secondary characters there were, but I also found myself really wanting to know their individual stories.
Divinity was a fun, quick read, and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with the characters in next book in this series, Entity.

Thanks to Omnific Publishing, I have one paperback copy of Divinity to giveaway. Open to U.S. mailing addresses only.

Howdy, Y’all! Wow, it’s been a while, huh?! Well, I’m back to kick off the Divinity Blog Tour with a bang. Please welcome author Patricia Leever, as she shares a bit about her upcoming release, Divinity. And as an extra treat, thanks to the folks at Omnific Publishing, we even have a giveaway of Divinity at the end of the post!
In Divinity, there are Hunters, those that risk their lives battling Downworlders, and there are Handlers, those that make sure the Hunters have everything they need to get their jobs done. Which would you rather be, Hunter or Handler?
Oh, that’s a good question! I think if I could choose, I would like to be a Hunter and kick some demon butt, HOWEVER I think with my “mom” tendencies I would be better suited as a Handler.
The heroine of Divinity, Evelyn, is covered in tattoos that offer her protection and strength. Do you have any tattoos?
I do indeed! I have a tribal butterfly on my right shoulder blade and the words “Live. Breathe. Write.” with a quill pen on the inside of my right wrist. I absolutely love tattoos! The artistry that goes into them amazes me and I love seeing people carrying their art on their skin like my brother, Wayne and his wife, Heather, they are both heavily tattooed.
I was happy to see Daniel’s POV included in Divinity. What was it like writing from a male’s POV?
It was a BLAST! I can honestly say that a good portion of the time it was easier to write from Daniel’s POV. There is something about crawling inside of a “guy’s” head and picking through the contents that was so much fun!
Besides Divinity, you have also published Cat O’ Nine Tails. What’s up next for you?
Right now I’m working on the second book in the Divinity series, called Entity! I’m really excited to get back to these characters! My goal is to have the manuscript to my publisher by the end of the school year. Being a stay-at-home mom, I can edit during the summer, but it’s almost impossible to create new material when all 4 kids are home all day long, I get the majority of my work done when they are in school. However, I do have an amazing husband that not only supports what I do and pimps my books out to everyone he knows, but he understands how hard it is for me to get work done with the kids home, so he takes the kids on little day trips which allows me time to myself to work or just decompress.

Welcome to another Iron Legends blog tour stop hosted by Kismet Book Touring! As a long time fan of Julie Kagawa’s, I’m super excited to be part of the tour and to be representing the coolest court of the realm, The Winter Court!

With elections just around the corner and because of the fact that Prince Ash has renounced his crown, I thought it would be a perfect time for me to announce my intent to run for Ruler of the Winter Court. I know. I know. If Queen Mab found out about my plans to run against her, I’d be a Popsicle before I could even say the word. But come on! She has to know how to chill, right? I mean, didn’t she kind of invent it or something?
So, you might be wondering what a small town girl from Texas knows about ruling The Winter Court? Truth is, not much, but I’m the type of candidate that is not only willing to work hard, but also intends to keep it any promises I make. With that in mind, I’d like to present the following changes I’d install if I were elected Ruler of The Winter Court:
- Three day weekends. Unfortunately, we all have to work to make a living, and the expenses of court are significant, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t take a decent amount of time off to relax and unwind. My philosophy has always been: Work to live, not live to work! Therefore, I propose that weekends start on Friday and end on Sunday!
- Speaking of Sundays, why not Sundays on Mondays?! Who couldn’t use a nice ice cream sunday on Monday to start their work week off with a blast? Want extra cherries on top, no problem! Just say the word, and it’s done!
- Activity period. During your workday, I’d allow you a hour and a half to hit the gym. We do have to work off those sundays after all, and I can’t think of a better way than to take a Spinning class or to show us your cool moves in a Zumba class. Health and Wellness improves longevity, and I want you all around for a long, long time.
- Social events. I don’t just want to be your ruler, I also want to be your friend, so I plan to host many social events. Come on over to my palace for movie night and Taco Tuesdays! I promise to have a couple of pool parties too, and yes, the jacuzzi will be open to all.
- Opportunities for growth. Feel like you need to improve your sword wielding and pillaging skills? Then why not take a class! I plan to hire only the best in the business to help you sharpen your skills and put them to good use!
What do you say? Will you vote for me to be your next ruler of The Winter Court?! I’d very much appreciate your support.

The Iron Knight

B&N | The Book Depository
Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.
Unless he can earn a soul.
To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.
Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.
With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.
To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.
And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Julie Kagawa was born in Sacramento, California. But nothing exciting really happened to her there. So, at the age of nine she and her family moved to Hawaii, which she soon discovered was inhabited by large carnivorous insects, colonies of house geckos and frequent hurricanes. She spent much of her time in the ocean, when she wasn’t getting chased out of it by reef sharks, jellyfish and the odd eel.
To pay the rent, Julie worked in different bookstores over the years, but discovered the managers frowned upon her reading the books she was supposed to be shelving. So she turned to her other passion: training animals. She worked as a professional dog trainer for several years, dodging Chihuahua bites and overly enthusiastic Labradors, until her first book sold and she stopped training to write full-time.
Julie now lives in Louisville, Kentucky, where the frequency of shark attacks are at an all-time low. She lives with her husband, two obnoxious cats, one Australian shepherd who is too smart for his own good and the latest addition, a hyperactive Papillon puppy.

As part of the Nine Lives Blog Tour, I’m excited to welcome author Amanda Arista here today! She’s here to share some very important tips about living with an author. Take notes, and make sure to check out the gift set giveaway Ms. Arista is offering as part of the tour!
Things that spouses need to know about living with a writer
So this might be bragging a little, but I have the world’s best husband. He knew he was in for something when I got that first contract. In the past two years, he has on a few occasions had to explain the intricacies involved in living with a writer.
In the light of the popularity of Skippy’s List (a hilarious list of what one man learned he could not do in the US Army), I give you the 10 Rules of living with a writer.
1. When conversing with your writer, you might need to clarify “is this a real person or a person in your head?” This will help avoid potential confusion in the coming conversation.
2. When the laptop opens, you might be doing more chores than the average spouse because your beloved is in another world and that other world does not have dirty dishes. Hence why he/she might spend a lot of time there.
3. Keep a stash of vices in the house. When the muse does not strike, you might need to help your writer lure the muse out with alcohol, chocolate, or a stash of movies with your writer’s favorite actor in it. This will help out all three parties.
4. Ignore the questions. Your writer is not trying to actually blow up anything, nor is your writer trying to actually break into an apartment. They probably don’t have actual criminal intentions.
5. Be available for research. Writers can only write what they know and helping look for the answers is sometimes really exciting and has personally lead to some of our best stories as a couple. For example, in Diaries of an Urban Panther, the scene where the romantic lead Chaz shows the heroine Violet how to shoot a gun is pretty autobiographical.
6. Expect the unexpected when asked “What are you thinking about?” Understand that the answer to that question might range from “what to have for lunch” to “taking over the world with a laser beam from space” to “how to narrate sex with a were-panther.” Please gauge your comfort with any of those answers as well as your surroundings before you ask that question.
7. When your writer is crying at the computer. It is nothing that you did, but you are responsible for quietly supplying Kleenex.
8. Your writer might be part of a tribe. You will need to make peace with this and understand that you might be in a conversation with all of them and not understand a single thing they are saying. It’s okay. They speak their own language.
9. Learn the language: know the 12 steps of the heroes journey so that when someone cracks a “Crossing the threshold” joke, you laugh along with them.
10. Make sure to walk your writer. Writers have been known to sit all day at the computer and be stuck in their own world. Please make sure that they get out and eat at some point. Caloric intake is secondary to word count in a writer’s mind, so you might need to remind them that they can not survive on words alone.

Dear Diary,
With new supernatural creatures popping up at every turn (Ghouls? Really?), the city divided, and my long-lost cousin blazing into town, I’ve got a lot on my mind. Oh, not to mention I’m supposed to be planning a wedding. Chaz has got to be the best, most patient (and probably clinically insane) fiance around.
But defeating my sworn enemy in a battle for the souls of Dallas is going to require more than just my full attention. It means learning to depend on everyone—especially Chaz—if any of us are going to make it out of this alive. Because if Plan A doesn’t work, I’m going to need them for Plan B. And Plan C . . .
