My Book Boyfriend (55): Ryu Baobhan Sith
Sometimes, getting book bullied into reading a book you completely weren’t expecting to like is a reward in itself. Take, for example, my latest literary crush: Ryu Baobhan Sith, of Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler. When Jen at In the Closet with a Bibliophile told me I’d fall head over Red Velvet Cupcakes for him, I thought “as if anything is more delicious than Red Velvet Cupcakes!” But then Ryu flashed some fang, and I was hooked. Actually, Jen is Team Anyan, another guy (sort of) from the Jane True series, but I’m not yet convinced, so for now, my heart is with the vampire.
Ryu Baobhan Sith:
- Investigator for the Compound
- 270 years old vampire
- only about 5’9″, but dresses very well
- has thick brown hair & a small but full-lipped mouth
- drives a silver Porsche Boxster
- likes music and going to the theater, especially operas
- loves to be around humans, and tries to stay current on pop culture
- is into Manga and new Brit pop
- is very forward, but knows how to spoil a lady
“I like you, Jane. Not despite your history, but because of it. And there’s one other thing, something I think you should know.” Ryu paused for dramatic effect, and I finally raised my eyes to meet his.
“I am a breast man. And you, my darling, have an incredibly nice rack,” he concluded, causing me to blush and giggle.

“This is how your life should be,” he said, his eyes gazing into mine. “You should be dressed in satin…” He ran a finger over my lips, which parted under his touch. “…pampered…” he murmured, as I nibbled on his finger. “…loved…” he concluded, pulling me toward him for a kiss.

My Ryu is being played by Justin Chatwin! And yes, I’m addicted to the show, SHAMELESS! It is so seriously awesome, and sometimes I get to spot Justin’s bare bootay on it. It’s so cute! hehehe

I just ate Red Velvet Cake! LOL From Costco on sale! It was delicious. I haven't watched Shameless actually. I hear it is a good show. I also haven't read Tempest Rising but vampires are always hot and entertaining. Great quotes! I really liked the second one.

Really? This is how you picture Ryu? I always imagined him as more.. stuck-up, I guess. But I'm Team Anyan, so my opinion doesn't really count.
I do remember thinking that Ryu is the hottest character ever while I was reading the first book. It was later that I changed my mind.

Haven't read this book or seen that show, but I love the pictures! Kinda having a hard time picturing him as a vampire though. He's so adorable.

So I've read this book, it was just okay for me but Ryu was cool. I always felt like he was hiding something though. I agree with your friend, I'm an Anyan fan. But your Ryu rep is a cutie! And I've never heard of shameless, I'll have to google.

Ah, romance. It just makes me happy:) I'm surprised Jane didn't just rip his clothes off right then and have her naughty way with him in a breast-lovin extravaganza. I guess maybe the second quote makes him kind of a keeper:)

I'm SO glad you're reading this series! Ryu's pretty freaking HOT but I'm curious if you'll stick to team Ryu as you continue the books. He is a fantastic book boyfriend to spotlight though!

Oh I've been wanting to watch Shameless, but haven't yet. Looks like I need to try harder. Is it on Netflix yet?
Oh and I so need to get this book moved up on the tbr. I didn't even know about the teams in this book. Hm… I'll just take them all just in case.
