It always thrills me to feature fellow Texan on my blog, so I’m super excited to have Alexis of Reflections of a Bookaholic here today! Not only is Alexia my go to girl for historical novels about love and war, she also hosts a fun feature call, Why I Love Wednesdays, where book lovers share about their book love with different topics every week. You should check it out, but first, meet Alexis!

Reflections of a Bookaholic

First I want to thank Missie for having me over here on her wonderful blog! I was kind of shocked that you’d ask me and worried at the same time. Unfortunately, I’m not exciting at all. In fact, I’m downright boring! Lol. But I think you are awesome, Missie, for allowing me to come chat :)

Usually when I’m not reading I’m doing something geared toward obtaining my Law Degree. I’m a third year law student at the University of Texas at Austin. You’ll often find me pretending to study, preparing for court, or practicing/preparing for moot court competition. Honestly, when they hand me my diploma in May, I’m going to take off running across the stage just in case they realize what they have done.

Other than that I have a few new-found addictions. I recently discovered The X Factor (oh the drama) and The Vampire Diaries (One name…Damon! Wowser!)

When I have extra time, I like to spend it in my kitchen cooking delicious (or would be delicious if I wasn’t cooking it) meals. I love eating out at restaurants but I can’t afford it because I spend all my money on books so I try to reproduce the same dishes at home. I’ve had some wonderful results and some…”hmmm…they make that with that! Ewww!” kind of results. Since I never cook without my wine, I’m usually fine with however the meal turns out.

Last, but certainly not least, I hang out with the hubby. We will both be Texas fans until we die and love college football. We part ways when it comes to professional football because, he’s wishy-washy. When we aren’t together, I’m a pretty sensible person. I make lists and get things done. But together, we get into so many crazy scrapes. I’ll have to save the stories for another time, but it is always 100% his fault.

That’s it for me!!

Thank’s again Missie :)

Alexis, doesn’t every thing taste better with wine? I think so. I’m not much of a cook myself, but I love eating! And it’s good to know I’ll be able to turn to you for some legal advice if I ever need it. LOL Good luck with school and thanks for dropping by today. :)

I LOVE Vampire Diaries too. And I'm interested to hear about those scrapes – isn't it always the guys' fault?! ;-)

LOL I know what you mean about wasting all of your money on books — I do the exact same thing!!! x) But you definitely aren't boring, Alexis! You love to cook and you study law and you have a blog too, which automatically makes you super-awesome! Plus, you're Team Damon! Enough said. ;)

It's really nice to meet you, Alexis! :)

I so think we need to have a TX Bloggers get together down south somewhere. I am just saying…then we can all drink wine together, get crazy, and then blame it on your hubby :)

Ohh, another awesome blog I recognize! :)

Lol, Alexis, I'm the same with the food. I try my best, but since I do it usually something isn't quite right! I'm hoping it might change since I'm taking some uni classes about food next year, haha. My boyfriend likes that fact at least. ._. Lol! Great post!

I'm a huge fan of wine with dinner. You are absolutely right that it doesn't matter how the meal turns out as long as you have wine.

Sounds like you work hard and also have a lot of fun! I'm sure all the crazy stuff is your husbands fault. Dinner looks yummy. And I'm so with you on Damon!

It was great to learn a bit more about you Alexis. You and your hubby make such a cute couple! I love wine and do like to cook which I'm thankfully pretty good at. Like you, my money goes to books and my puppy so there isn't a lot left over for going out. Lol.

Hey Alexis! Glad your on the Damon train, I adore him:) Stefan who?? Yay for a law degree too! That's fantastic. What kind of law do you think you'll practice?

And isn't always the hubby's fault ;-)

YAY for Team Damon! I'm going through VD withdrawals. I can't believe we have 2 more weeks for the show to return. *pouts*

I also try to implement things that I see on cooking shows but there are definitely dishes where I've been grossed out and don't want to replicate.

Oh wow – how do you find the time to read with being in LAW SCHOOL! GO YOU!! I guess you need to get your fun read fixes now before you have to face the bar, eh? Great getting to know you!

Cooking is fun! I agree, though, that sometimes the results can be less than desirable. :P I admire the fact that you keep at it!

Yay for 3Ls. It's the best year – when you can just laze around and go to class (or not go) and get your degree. Of course in this economy it might not be so fun :-( . Have fun with your last semester!

Alexis that picture is too cute! A glass of wine makes everything better. There are a few books that need them too! Great post.

Personally, I don't think anyone who reads as much as you guys do could ever be boring because you have so many books and reading experiences to talk about!

Smiles!

Awesome post and great pic of you and your hubby!

Thanks again Missie for having me :)

@Jenny, I'm focusing on family law for now.

@Belle, it is definitely always the guys fault. I'm always innocent ;)

@A. Knight, isn't it cute?! Definitely one of my favorite pics. Everyone needs a pic of their significant other in a banana costume.

@Mimi Valentine, nice to meet you too! I'm so excited to be on Missie's blog. I feel so special.

@Alison Can Read, it is nice but I overcommitted myself so I don't get to be lazy and have fun. I never counted on how unmotivated I would be in my last year.

@Everyone… Team Damon all the way. Did I mention that his eyebrows are awesome? Ha. I'm hooked.

Missie…I really can't thank you enough.
