In My Mailbox (17)
Feels like forever since I have done an IMM. I miss them.
I’ve collected a few books these past weeks, but haven’t featured them. My poor neglected books. Well, here they are.
For Review:
Purchased:

Back in November, I joined Rhapsody Book Club, yet another site to buy books. However, I failed to take note that they do that Featured Selections of the Month deal, and if you don’t decline the offer by a certain deadline, they automatically ship it to you. So imagine my surprise and horror when I noticed a draft on my account for $50! For only three books?! And one was a cook book at that. (I don’t cook; hate it.) I was so upset that I wanted to punch a baby, instead I sulked in a dark corner. And that is how I came to own these craptastic titles.
Maybe they would be good for a giveaway? *awkward smile*
Am I the last person on earth to read this book? Feels like I am. Must change that, especially since Laura Whitcomb, author of one of my favorite books, A Certain Slant of Light, said that part of her writing technique includes Fitch x2. Curious? Read more here.
Purchased for Kindle:
The Water Wars by Cameron Stracher for only $2.39! Seriously awesome! You can’t beat that price.
Oh and, I finally got a cover for my new Kindle, Gwen. I’ve had her for over a month now, but I just couldn’t decide on a cover. I debated back and forth on which to get, but finally decided I couldn’t leave her naked and cold forever. Love the end result:
What did you get?

Haha I like that you named your Kindle… I've had my Nook for a while but haven't gotten around to naming him (yes, I decided it's a him…..his temporary name is Sir Nookington… it's super-cheesy, I know =P) Anyway, nice cover! It's really cute.
& I can't wait for Wither. It's been popping up everywhere and seems interesting. Happy Reading!

That is a gorgeous cover. I'm jealous. Mine is getting old but I really don't need a new one when this one's acceptable.
My nook is named Madame Pince the Second. Reference to Harry Potter, plus the Second cause it's my second nook.
Just had to stop by when I saw your new cover. *intense cover envy* enjoy your books!!!

Aw, sorry to hear about those books you didn't mean to buy. That sounds like something I would do. And fifty dollars for three books?! EEK! That's a lot. At least that cowboy is kinda nice to look at.
I hope you enjoy your other books!

Oh nice Kindle cover! I like!!

You know I did the exact same thing for that book club too, and I was shocked when I they told me at the bank I was overdrafted. *sighs* I haven't even gotten the books. Anyways you have some awesome other books though.

Oh, that sucks on the book club! It's like getting sucked into some BS Columbia Records deal. (My mom was pretty pissed about that one when I was 15, ha ha ha.)
I haven't named my Kindle, and now I think I've been remiss. If I had a Nook, it would obviously be called, “I do it all for the nookie.”

Love the kindle cover!!! great books this week hon! xoxo =D

All I can stare at is Wither. Your a lucky person
Hope you enjoy your books. That really sucks about 50$ Book Club charge thing. Hope you enjoy all your books though.

I love White Oleander! Such a sad book though. I hope you like it!

That Kindle cover is awesome
Wow you got Wither *drool*
Happy reading

Oh Wither…I can't wait for that! And your Kindle cover is gorgeous, love it!

I got Wither too (well an ebook copy). Can't wait to get started. Oh and I love your kindle case. Happy reading

Gosh, I really love your Kindle cover!! Truly wish I can afford one like that. Seriously love the colour combo. I think it fits the Kindle perfectly.

So frustrating that Rhapsody Club got you.
I'm really interested in reading The Radleys and Wither.

Don't you just hate book clubs where you have to decline selections? It would be so much better if you had to accept selections. The Neggers one looks OK if you read romantic suspense. And, I don't cook but I love looking at the pictures in cookbooks. My mailboxes are here and here. Happy reading!

That's sucks! 50 dollars for three books! That's expensive!
Wither (The Chemical Garden Trilogy) by Lauren DeStefano looks sooo good. I want to get my hands on that one. I hope it's amazing.
Enjoy the books you got. And hey, maybe the books you got from Rhapsody Book Club aren't so bad.

I love that Kindle case! That was the one I was planning on getting, but then after my Kindle arrived I knew I didn't want a book styled cover. I also thought the stripes inside might be distracting while I read, so I passed on it for that reason to.
But I still love it and I'm jealous!! Very cute!

That's an adorable cover! I love it! And I really should seriously consider getting a Kindle. It's one of those things I'd rather try out first, you know?
Anyways. WATER WARS looks SO good and so does WITHER.
Good books this week! Happy reading!

I did break down and buy a skin though LOL
Alright to the books: I haven't read White Oleander and haven't seen the movie either
I can honestly say I haven't heard of the other 5 books on your list! Wait I have seen/heard of Wither

I haven't read White Oleander either, but it's part of my Vulnerable Children's course readings this semester.

Wither! I feel like every time I see Wither in someone's mailbox I need to shout the title out loud for some reason.
That is one awesome kindle cover. I thought at first you had just bought Great Expectations the book to read. I hope Gwen loves it!

Love the Kindle cover and your IMM picture! Both are awesome! I'm sooo looking forward to reading Wither! Happy reading

You seriously made me snort the milk I was drinking when you said you wanted to punch a baby! What an odd way to go about things, they should at least give you a warning before you're all of a sudden charged for craptastic books. That blows Missie! But at least you got some good books as well, I can't wait to read wither and The Water Wars!

Thanks so much on the heads up about Water Wars on Kindle. My Kindle doesn't arrive for a couple weeks still and I have been purchasing books at great prices already.
