In My Mailbox (14)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren.

This week I asked myself, Does reading book reviews really influence my book buying decision? The answer: Heck Yeah! And I’ve got the proof right here:

The Word Made Flesh: Literary Tattoos from Bookworms Worldwide by Eva Talmadge and Justin Taylor.

I added this one to my cart after reading about the book on Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog. Check out Felicia’s review here.

Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John.

I put this book in my pre-order cart after reading Nely’s at All About {n} review of the book. Previously, I hadn’t heard of the book or the author, but I had to get it because the review was great and I fell in cover love. Check out Nely’s review here.

Of Bees and Mist: A Novel by Erick Setiawan.

Hold Me Closer, Necromancer by Lish McBride

I love to check out Melissa’s at Books and Things reviews because she reads all types of books! Recently, I bought two books because of her reviews. I’d seen the cover for Of Bees and Mist around, but hadn’t stopped to read much about it until I checked out her review here. And, another book I hadn’t heard of, Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, I just had to have after reading her review here.

Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books put this Book Lovers calendar on my radar. I ordered one for myself and I have to say, I love it!! It is so beautiful. In fact, I think I’m gonna offer one as a giveaway in December. What do you think? Should I?

I also picked up a few e-books based on some book reviews.

Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between by J.A. Saare. Review that sold me here by Jenny at Supernatural Snark.

Stud by Brigit Zahara. Review that sold me here by Rachel at Parajunkee’s Views.

YOU SEE! You book reviewers are bad influences on my wallet. I can only hope that my little cousins will understand come Christmas time. Getting a stocking full of hand painted rocks is just as good as getting one full of toys, right? ;)

What did you get this week? Do book reviews influence what you add to your library?

Reviews influence me without a doubt! That's why I added a section to my “Add to TBR” form for where I found the book and I try to mention where I came across each book in their review :)
