In case you haven’t noticed, Texas (my home state) is kind of big. That is why I was beyond excited to discover that fellow book blogger Savannah from Books with Bite lives close by me. And by close, I mean about an hour away. LOL! But still, I love knowing she is near, and I’m thrilled to have her featured today on When I’m Not Reading. Check her out:
When I am not reading I’m dancing. Dancing is something I always like to do and still enjoy doing today. It all begin when I was little. My mother use to put me in dance recitals for our local high school dance team in order to raise money. I love going and pick up the dances quickly. I even loved copying dance moves from movies and entertainment artists and would perform all the time in front of my audiences of teddy bears. Finally, when I was going to be a freshmen in high school, I tried out for the team and made it! I was ecstatic and couldn’ t wait to dance! My dancing got better and better through out the years and my senior year I made Captain of the dance team!
During my senior year, I also made The All-American Dance Team which gave me an amazing opportunity to perform at The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2002. I spent my Thanksgiving day dancing away in the streets in New York City performing on live tv in front of thousands of people! My best day ever! After my senior year, I still pursued dance and made it for the dance team at my local university, The University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College.
I enjoyed the first two years in college dancing, then it got difficult to practice, perform, do homework and work full-time. It was then I decided to call its quits and hang up my dancing shoes. Then I got married and had a son.
But, WAIT! I didn’t completely hang them up. I still enjoy dancing, just not in front of people. I mostly dance now and days on my Wii and Xbox. I am totally an addict to Dance Dance Revolution and play every chance I get. Not only is it fun, but it helps with losing all the baby weight gain. I love dancing. It has always been a great way to exercise and get my mind off things. I hope to one day be able to own a dance studio and choregrapgh dance routines.
Thank you to Savy for sharing with us! I love that she is a dancer. Everyone who knows me, knows I love all things DANCE even though I can’t move to save my life!

Yay Savy! I could never be a dancer, I look like I'm having a seizure when I try and people around me begin to become alarmed and move away:) Love that she dances with the wii now!
Great series Missie, it's so much fun to know some things about other bloggers not related to books!

That's awesome!! I loved dancing too! I was on my middle school dance team and then I wanted to try out in high school, but it didn't work out
I'm a big fan of DDR too. Me and my friend Melissa would play/dance for hours. She recently got the new dance game for Wii so I'll have to try that one soon.
Great post and happy reading & dancing!
