Review
Yeah…yeah. Okay. Bubbles bursts when they get too big. I get that, and after the major upset that was book 5, Lover Unbound (in case you forgot, lamest thing ever, Jane become a frinkin’ ghost), I thought, well…things can only go up from here, right?
Riiiiight…
My biggest peeve with this book was the stupid lesser, Mr. D, from Texas, and the way he was portrayed (overly exaggerated Tex speak)! Please Ward, don’t mess with Texas like that after you royally screwed over one of my favorite brothers, Vishous, or I can’t be expected to be held responsible for my actions, which would include duct tape, a trunk, and the bottom of the ocean. Other than that, the book was good enough to pull me back into the BDB world. I was able to settle back into the more important things involving the series.
Phury’s pain was palpable, but also a little drawn out. His struggle, drug addiction, seemed too much of a human concept, but his internal battle with his ‘wizard’ was executed very well. As Primale of the race, Phury is expected to bed 40 of the Chosen, but his growing love for his first mate, Cormia, would not allow him to do it. Meanwhile, Cormia’s situation is all about making adjustments and sacrifices for the race. Although her story started out very slow, I found myself wanting to reach out to her, and was glad she was encouraged to find out more about herself as an individual. True to form in this series, Phury and Cormia’s miscommunicaiton issues keeps them apart until the end.
The best parts of this book were the side stories. Of course anything involving ‘the boys’ (Qhuinn, Blay and JM) makes me giddy! And my favorite scenes in this book involve them. First, Qhuinn saves JM by slicing Lash! w00t! And then… THE KISS!!!! Team Qhuay baby! The two share one hellahot kiss! One that makes you le sigh and re-read the scene until you memorize it (and dream of it)! JS! Also, my heart swelled with the return of Tohr! And he showed up with a interesting bodyguard, the fallen angel Lassiter! Can’t wait to see what develops with those two!
Overall, the road to redemption is not as long as it seems, and Lover Enshrined was able to prove that the interesting and intricate world that Ward has created with the BDB series is worth skipping over the hiccups, no matter how cheated you feel, *glares at Doc Jane* (Oh for the love of the Fade, Missie, get over it already)!

you see the yellow eyes and long hair…. nice!

LMAO! You go girl! I loved Phury's book because of the side stories. And I was ALSO royally irritated with Jane turning into a ghost. It STILL bugs the shit out of me with EVERY book. Ugh. Why Ward? Why???

Phury's story was definitely full of angst wasn't it?! But, good things did come from the book… for one, Blay and Quinn! I, too, am all for Team Qhuay! Please tell me you're going to make a badge for them and pass it on to me? *bats eyes*
